Historical & Industrial Significance
Kaolinite’s name comes from the Chinese hill “Gaoling,” where it was first mined centuries ago. It is the essential ingredient in porcelain and ceramics and is used in paper production, paint, rubber, cosmetics, and medicine (as an anti-diarrheal agent and skin protectant). Ancient cultures also used kaolin for pottery, healing poultices, and ceremonial uses.
Metaphysical Properties
Kaolinite is recognized as a gentle stone of purification, emotional healing, and energetic balance. Its soft, absorbent energy is said to draw out negativity, calm the mind, and facilitate inner harmony. It is especially valued for supporting self-reflection, nurturing, and emotional release.
